Paper Hearts Party Wall

It’s officially February which means Valentine’s Day and galentine’s is upon us! Here’s just one way to amp up your party. Every year for President’s day weekend I get together with my girlfriends for Galentine’s day. Normally we get together in the place we became besties (Stanley  ID), but this year I am hosting! As we know I love to go over the top for get togethers like this. I decided on a heart feature wall to up the galentine’s theme. That and I think The House that Lars Built has convinced me large paper party scapes are always a good idea. $12 and a few hours later here’s what I came up with

How-to

I used eight 12×12 sheets of paper and mostly used the heart punch I got with a coupon from Michael’s ($7). For the larger and tiny hearts I printed out different sizes and cut them out by hand. You could definitely use one size to speed up the process with a paper punch. The paper with all the different color and pattern hearts was my inspiration. Seriously loving how all the colors work together!I measured the wall height, estimated how many strings I wanted, and figured out I needed to space the hearts about 3 inches. I switched the machine to size 5.0 stitch and started sewing! After you’re done sewing paper be sure to change your needle, or have a separate “paper only” needle, as it will dull it quickly.

Although I have lots more planned for our party, this feature wall was a fun first project! I can hardly wait for galentine’s day and of course I will share all of my other party planning hacks when it finally gets here.

Bonus: extra hearts make really cute confetti! Cake stand from Target dollar spot
